The Owensboro Riverport Authority (ORA) employs over 40, encompasses 350 acres, and ships over 1M tons per year via river, rail, and highway. AEI has been their partner on numerous projects in recent history including:
2018 BUILD Grant. AEI was the principal author and oversaw development of the $11.5M BUILD Grant application with ORA. The improvement need was not born out of congestion or a high crash rate, so the application stressed the importance and vitality of the riverport as well as solutions to mixed land-use challenges along the existing roadway. The application was one of only three selected in Kentucky.
KY 331/Rinaldo Road Widening. After winning the BUILD grant, ORA selected AEI to deliver the project. Meeting the construction letting deadline was paramount because failure could lead to the loss of the 80% federal match. AEI was responsible for roadway design, right-of-way acquisition, utility relocation, and inspection services.
Site Intelligence Reports (SIR) and Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs). AEI assisted in preparation of SIRs and ESAs for four tracts of the riverport property including the 50-acre lot inside the riverport’s loop track. These efforts represented a marketing effort to capture all pertinent information for potential investors.
